Everyone says the light in Italy is wonderful. They’re right.

In the Fall of 2008, I took a painting trip to Tuscany. The colors of the landscape and the design of the architecture are truly inspiring. To spend time painting in Florence was amazing…an artist’s dream come true.

I returned from Italy with a number of plein air paintings, some of which are shown here. I collected lots of reference photos that I continue to use in creating ink resist paintings in my studio. If you ever have the chance to visit Italy, say yes!
